Producer/CEO SHINYA HIMEDA 姫田 伸也
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Tokyo. Having a cinematographer as father, he grew up surrounded by film people.
Shinya dreamed to be a sailor and went to marine high school. At the age of 16, he sailed around the Micronesian ocean. After high school, he entered Japan Academy of Moving Images. Then he went to study filmmaking at CUNY in NYC. In 2001, Shinya returned to Japan and worked in various production companies including Amuse, Aoi Pro, Happinet.
Then he worked as a freelance producer for many co-production films.
In July 2020, Shinya launched Gemini Films.

東京生まれ。撮影監督を父にもち、映画人に囲まれて育つ。小さいころからの夢は船乗りだったため、海洋高校に進み１６歳でミクロネシアを航海する。高校卒業後、日本映画学校に入学。
日本映画のさらなる可能性を求めてアメリカに渡る。
ニューヨーク市立大学(CUNY)で映画理論を学び2001年に帰国。
アミューズ、Aoi Pro、ハピネットなどの会社でプロデューサーとして経験をつむ。 その後、フリーのプロデューサーとして数々の日本映画・海外合作映画に携わる。 2020年、Gemini Filmsを設立。
